The associate of arts degree offers an excellent foundation for degrees in communication, education, business, social and behavioral sciences, and the arts. Students gain knowledge and skills applicable to almost any work environment, such as problem solving, critical thinking and communication. Those who choose to enter the workforce with an associate degree are prepared for entry-level positions. A minimum of 60 credits is required for the associate of arts degree.
First-year Spartans simply must verify a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Dual enrollment students only need a 2. Exceptions are made for undergrads with Compass scores above 50 English, 58 Reading, and 39 Algebra. Stark State College makes admission easy by accepting candidates on a rolling basis.
