Cons: Thermal paste it comes with is not the best; suggest using artic silver as its way easier to apply.
I started using the asus paste and it just doesn't apply as evenly so I used ArticSilver5. This thing is HUGE. Its more than twice the size of the stock cooler but hey, it does the job.
I read other reviews saying how big it was and you can't really see how big it is until it arrives in the mail. Overall Review: Was using stock cooler on my Phenom X4 watt, posting idles in the 50's and loads around 60 which is terrible when MB temps are in the low 30's.
This behemoth of a cooler brought those temps wayy down average around a 17deg C decrease! I love this thing. Pros: It cools very well, it is very easy to install on an Phenom, and even for it size it fitted my rig see below , it is less noisy than the stock AMD fan.
Cons: The thermal paste that they provide was very hard to apply. I lost my Artic silver in the move. I still decided to apply only the minimal amount, like if it was the Artic silver - I did lap the copper heatsink first.
Everything looks fine, but they should provide better stuff. Artic silver is inexpensive they should provide it with any heatsink.
As it was with the stock cooler, I found core temperatures reaching into the upper 50s. The power lead for the motherboard is glued to the circuit board; this will help prevent the wires from being pulled off the solder point on the circuit board.
